Dialysis on holiday:P atients who need regular dialysis are able to get their treatment in the holiday destinations of Antalya during their vacation. There are good dialysis centres, with the newest high-tech equipment, in Alanya, Antalya and Kemer. The dialysis centers can be reached at the following phone numbers; Alanya Oezel Can Hastenesi (+90 242 512 4438) Antalya, Olbia Diyaliz Merkezi (+90 242 228 4781), in Kemer, Kemer Life Hospital (+90 242 814 5500)Diarrhea: The so-called revenge of Montezuma is caused mostly by icy-cold drinks which are drunk for eating too quickly. Should you suffer only from diarrhea, without cramps and fever, there is an old Turkisk remedy of two tablespoons of ground Turkish coffee mixed with the juice of one lemon. It tastes horrible, but it helps in simple cases. (The coffee helps to calm the intestinal mucous membrane and helps to get the function back to normal). If the symptoms are more severe (fever, cramps) it could indicate a viral infection and you should consult a doctor for the appropriate treatment. You may be prescribed a special diet with lots of liquid for two to three days until things are normal again. After that you can enjoy once again, the delights of the Turkish kitchen!Discotheques: In the summer evenings there are many small bars and discos with Live music. You can find discos in the bigger hotels and in every holiday resort. In Side the OXIDE and LIGHTHOUSE are the discotheques, in Alanya there is the AUDITORUM. In Göynük, near Kemer, there is the new METRONOME. In Kemer one goes to the AURA or the BUDA. If you prefer a disco which can rival the best of Europe then you should patronise the 'Olympos disco" of the Falez Hotel in Antalya. Here it starts at 11:30 pm promptly. Inside tip! At the Olympos, the Disco fanatic finds the newest trends around in the realm of disco. A friendly ambiance and superb sound system await you.Diving: There is a diving-school in every big hotel resort. It is prohibited to dive alone without a state diving-leader because of the many historic treasures in the water. If you do not comply with this restriction you are liable to severe penalties. Most big hotels and vacation resorts have their own diving-schools with certified diving-instructors. You can find a professional diving-school under Swiss management in Kemer at: www.kemer-diving.com and another link leads you to the diver's paradise of Kas: www.kas-diving.com.Documents: For entry into Turkey, the identity card or passport is sufficient for EU citizens. Holiday-makers from Austria must buy a visa upon entry at the airport.. With the entry visa you may stay up to three months in the country. If you wish to stay for a longer period, you must apply to the Foreign Authority (Emniyet Müdürlügü Antalya Tel: 2279607) and it may be possible to secure a residence permit from 6 month to up to five years. You must be able to prove at this time that you are financially secure (for example through presentation of a bank account held at a Turkish bank), and that you able to support yourself. A residence permit does not constitute a work-permit!!Dolmus : (pronounced: Dolmusch") The most economical way to move around here is to ride with the Dolmus, a kind of small bus.For a small amount of money you can travel through the city and for bit more, through the country. In front of the Dolmus window you can read the ride destinations of that particular bus. You pay the driver upon leaving the dolmus as there are no tickets issued. If you change the dolmus then you must pay again. For a ride from Kemer to Antalya (approx. 45 km) one pays about 2,50 EURO. A city ride in Antalya costs approx. 60 cent (set price!). The dolmus stops anywhere passengers want to get off but despite the many stops,it is an interesting experience to travel by Dolmus. A must for every holiday-maker in Antalya! My recommendation: Always pay the dolmus with YTL as if you pay with Euro you end up paying too much.It is mandatory for the current fare list to be posted up in the bus.
