From sea to sky: South
Turkey gains a further attraction

The
Tahtali Aerial Cableway uniquely combines two classic holiday destinations – the
sea and the mountains. Mount Tahtali, with its height of 2,365 meters, is
situated in an attractive and rapidly growing tourist area and provides the
region with a new dimension.
Southern Turkey is on the one hand shaped by the sea, its landscapes and culture,
and on the other by the outstanding services and activities it has to offer.
With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, it is undoubtedly an attractive
holiday destination for guests from Europe the whole year round. And of course,
Mount Tahtali is an apparent landmark of this booming region that cannot be
overseen!

A region of boundless possibilities
The Tahtali lies at the heart of the Antalya tourist region with several
hundred-thousand hotel beds conveniently found in close proximity, approximately
a third of which are in 5-star hotel establishments. The possibilities and
offers open to guests are boundless: Swimming, diving, golf, sailing, sunbathing,
culture or the extremely popular excursions. Here, Mount Tahtali offers a brand
new experience, namely a stupendous view over the whole of southern Turkey and,
naturally, the sea.
Sea and mountains united
Diversity is an important factor for the successful achievement of any tourist
offer. And the contrasting experience the Mount Tahtali Aerial Cableway provides
is a masterpiece! Having enjoyed sunbathing on sandy beaches in the morning,
guests are then able to while time away in the afternoons amid the pleasantly
cool temperatures of a snowy mountain summit. Thanks to this aerial cableway the
mountains and sea have grown closer together, and furthermore, the Tahtali
cableway provides Europe with a unique and matchless combination!
Make
for the skies in safety
Swiss cableway technology and safety standards guarantee a safe and enjoyable
trip to the heavens, way above the mundane everyday. The Tahtali Aerial Cableway
is under construction by the Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group, a worldwide leader in
the planning and construction of cableways. The Doppelmayr/Garaventa company
group is represented with sales products and services in over thirty countries
and has, until today, constructed more than 13,000 cableways all over the world.
Construction on the Top
Ambitious and successful projects
With a length of 4,350 meters, the Tahtali Aerial Cableway is the longest aerial
cableway throughout Europe – and the second largest worldwide. Despite enormous
technical and landscape specific challenges, the project has progressed
according to plan throughout its entire construction period. A clear sign that
the responsible FAJOS A.S. enterprise set a realistic target and one that has
also been achieved. The opening will take place as planned.
Route opening in September 2006
Already in September 2006 the Tahtali Aerial Cableway shall commence activity –
by then the time consuming work on the supports and ropes shall be completed and
the mountain and valley cableway station ready for use. The ambitious project
will be completed with the opening of the efficient and modern summit restaurant
in July of 2007.
Amizing view
Endless liberty all the way to the top
The cableway will be in operation all day, seven days a week and throughout the
year. And a visit to the Tahtali provides a highlight for each and every tourist
